It’s a mixed bag on the employment front in our area.
In October, the Four County Labour Market Planning Board says the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region continued to hold the lowest unemployment rate in the province at 3.5 %, though that number represented a slight increase compared to September.
The losses seen in full-time employment in the area were offset by part-time gains.
More people were working in Agriculture and Manufacturing while the greatest losses were in Construction and Utilities.
Provincially, the unemployment rate decreased 0.2 percentage points to 5.8 % in October.
