The search is on for a man who police say assaulted an officer in St.Marys.
Stratford Police take over patrolling St.Marys from the Ontario Provincial Police on Monday and they say officers were in the town Friday morning familiarizing themselves with the area.
As they were driving through the downtown area, officers say they spotted 23-year-old Dylan Chappel who is wanted on outstanding warrants for breaking and entering and breaching probation.
They say they approached him and he resisted being arrested by fighting and assaulting an officer and he then ran away.
The OPP were called and both forces searched the area but they weren’t able to find Chappel.
Another warrant has been issued for this arrest, this time for assaulting an officer, and the officer was treated for minor injuries at the hospital.
Anyone who knows where Chappel may be is asked to call the police.
