Busy weekend for Stratford Police

It was a busy weekend for Stratford Police.

They say they were called to a domestic situation on Inverness Street Friday night where they discovered that a 19-year-old man, who had a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition, had left the house before they got there.

Police say they eventually reached the teen on his cell phone and he was soon found and arrested with the gun discovered in a backpack he was carrying.

The teen faces several charges including firearms offenses, domestic assault, and theft under $5 thousand.

Then just before 2 o’clock Sunday morning, police say a man was seen threatening another man with a knife in the Market Square area.

The 33-year-old man with the knife was arrested and has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

No one was injured in that incident.
