The death of a child at their facility has lead to a $150 thousand dollar fine against a Linwood company.
On Tuesday, J.M Lahman Manufacturing was fined after earlier pleading guilty to violating the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
An incident at the facility saw a company supervisor bring two children there and then letting one of them go off on their own without supervision.
The OSHA prohibits people under 15-years-old from being in a factory without being accompanied by an adult.
Investigators say the child was crushed to death when bundles of steel tubing that were being stacked by a worker collapsed.
It’s estimated that the stick weighed around 14 tonnes and the child was killed instantly.
