Perth-Wellington Projects Receive Over $223-Thousand In Funding From Ontario Government

“Investing in rural Ontario and supporting economic development in our rural communities.”

That’s what Perth-Wellington Conservative MPP Rany Pettapiece says is behind $223,460 in funding being provided to our area.

The funding is coming from the RED program which supports projects that help create jobs and attract investment to rural and indigenous communities.

Pettapiece says the funding will “help local communities identify their economic strengths and develop strategies to attract business and investment.”

Five projects in Perth-Wellington will receive funding.

They are:

  • $21,000 for the County of Perth to implement a youth engagement and leadership development initiative to address the barrier of youth-out migration
  • $7,500 for the County of Perth to conduct Business Retention and Expansion outreach for a targeted agri-business inventory of the region
  • $50,000 for the Stratford Economic Enterprise Development Corporation to hire a consultant to develop a Stratford Smart City Value Proposition
  • $95,460 for the Stratford Chefs School to develop the Farm to Table Book, celebrating and promoting local Perth County farmers and food producers
  • $49,500 for the Stratford Tourism Alliance to hire a project coordinator to create five highly-stylized videos as well as purchase media buys
