The local PC candidate held Perth-Wellington but the Liberals took the province.
Pettapiece defeated Liberal Stewart Skinner by nearly 2500 votes to return as MPP.
He says he’s grateful for the support.

Pettapiece says the majority government situation will make it harder for them to influence the government but they still have options available.

Despite the setback, Pettapiece says he will continue to fight for local issues and wind turbines are at the top of his list.

Pettapiece received 39 per cent of the vote to Skinners 33 per cent.
The NDP’s Romayne Smith Fullerton came in third with 19 per cent.
Pettapiece had kind words for his team and also for his opponents.

The Liberals won a majority with 59 seats while the PCs lost 10 seats to finish at 27.
Andrea Horwath’s NDP broke even at 21 seats.
