Police have now identified the person killed in a collision on Highway 401 near Ingersoll.
First responders were called out to a multi-vehicle collision on the highway at Foldens Line/ Oxford Road 6 just after 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
They say 60-year-old Mark Barnartt from Welland Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several minutes later, police say two additional multi-motor vehicle collisions happened in the westbound lanes of the highway, east of the initial collision scene.
The two subsequent collisions involved approximately 27 motor vehicles with minor injuries reported at both separate collisions, which took place just west of Sweaburg Road.
OPP West Region Technical Collision Investigators are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding each of the collisions.
