Rumble, Dorothy  (nee Smitjes)

Dorothy Frieda Victoria Rumble, age 90, formerly of St. Marys, Stratford and Mitchell, passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Born in Ellice Township, daughter of the late Robert Smitjes and the former Adeline Beltz.  During her rich life she was employed at Canadian Fabricated for many years.  Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Lawrence Arnold Rumble (2001). Loving mother to four children; Dennis Rumble (late May, 2014) and his wife Denise of St. Marys, Sharon Rumble of Stratford, Lora Lee Wagler and her husband Brian of Stratford, Tracey Victoria Rumble and her husband Joseph Kolenc of Erin.  Dorothy was very proud of her 10 grandchildren; Lisa, Michael, Joshua, Rebecca, Daniel, Richard, Christina, Jenna, Andreas and Stephan and enjoyed spending time with her many great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Harold Smitjes, Betty Pearson, Benjamin Smitjes and Ruby Ann Robertson.  Dorothy was also predeceased by her brothers Walter, George and Robert Smitjes and by her sister Beatrice Smitjes. During her service to the Lord, Dorothy enjoyed many accomplishments including being a founding member of Grace Community Church in St. Marys. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on  Friday, April 19, 2019 from 4 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Allan McGuirl officiating followed by a reception. A private family interment in Kintore Cemetery will be held at a later date.
