Stratford man charged after police say he was caught speeding in a stolen pickup truck

A 31-year-old Stratford man faces several charges after police say he was caught speeding in a stolen truck.

Shortly after 8 o’clock Tuesday night, Perth County OPP say an officer from the West Perth detachment saw a vehicle travelling over the posted speed limit on Perth Line 34, east of Mitchell.

The pickup was stopped and police say they determined that it had been stolen from London with the driver arrested and charged.

He was charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5 thousand and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He’s scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on August 12th to answer the charges.

Police say the man also had outstanding warrants with Waterloo Regional Police Service and was transported to Kitchener.
