Erb, Elmer

Elmer Erb – formerly of Millbank, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Nithview Retirement Home, New Hamburg on Saturday June 29, 2019 at the age of 87.  Elmer was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church.  He drove school bus for the Waterloo Region District School Board for over 20 years.  Elmer was also well known as a plowing competitor and champion at the International Plowing Match and other regional plowing matches.

Beloved husband of Adeline Erb with whom he recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.  Loving father of Bruce and Sherry, Ross and Cathy, Brian and Lori and Janet and John.  Special grandpa of Madison, Sierra, Peyton, Brendan, Aaron, Shawntel, Cameron and Kyle.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Leona Erb, Anna Mae Gascho, Ruby Erb, Lorene and Lowell Shantz, Norma Zehr, Eileen Lebold, Florence and David Gascho, Lloyd and Laurene Erb.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and the extended Ropp family.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary (Bast) Erb, brothers Nelson and Lorne, sisters Edna (in infancy) and Eva McKinnon, brothers-in-law Allen Gascho, Harold Zehr, Ralph Lebold and Wes McKinnon.

Visitation at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley on Wednesday July 10 from 1-4 and 6:30-8:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Maple View Mennonite Church on Thursday July 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating.  Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Maple View Mennonite Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
