Doreen Loretta Williams, age 80, passed away peacefully at the Kingsway Lodge on July 4, 2014. She was born in GadsHill, daughter of the late Joseph and Nelda Jordan. Beloved wife for 59 years of Norman Williams. Loving mother of Norma Monteith (Harold), Mary LaBranche (Chris), Nancy Hogben (Wes). Grandmother of Tanya Meakin (Jamie), Mark LaBranche (Debbie), Tammy Raycraft, Tracey Williams (Bob), Earl Hogben (Mandy), Lise Peston and great grandmother of Chelsea Meakin, Samantha Raycraft, Cali, Haily and Cole Hinsperger, Robert and Samantha Raycraft, Hayden Moneith, Adison Hogben, Dear sister of Jean Weir, Marjorie Robinson (Ron), Linda Heaton (Stan). Also survived by a brother-in-law Jim Pickering and several nieces and nephews and a good friend Cathy Smith. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Wilbert and Myrtle Williams a grandson Christopher Monteith and David Raycraft, a sister Marilyn Pickering and a brother-in-law Bill Weir. Doreen worked at Kroehler Furniture and late Kraven Knitt until her retirement. She was a member of Avonton Presbyterian Church, the Army, Navy, Air Force, Unit 261, Stratford and the Ladies Auxiliary. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, July 7th, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11a.m. Rev. Hugh Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeside United Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Avonton Presbyterian Church, the Army, Navy, Air Force Unit 261, Stratford or the Stratford General Hospital through the funeral home.
