McEwin, Susan Louise

Susan Louise McEwin passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2019. Susan was an incredible teacher who brought the love of learning to countless students.

She had the gift of seeing a student’s needs and of making them feel special. She shared her love of Hawaii where she spent each summer with a very special group of friends.

Many students remember learning the Hula, and singing “Silent Night” in Hawaiian.

After retirement, Susan became an artist specializing “re-imagined” art, in which she created something new out of old items.

Her ability to see the potential and beauty in everyday objects was amazing.

She loved dogs, and cherished Bella especially.

Susan was predeceased by her father, Lorne McEwin, her mother, Martha McCormack, her step-father, Gord Eby and her Aunt Beth and Uncle Bus.

Susan was a supportive, thoughtful, and always understanding friend.

She and her bubbly laughter will be dearly missed by her loving friends, Melinda Zemba, Rod, Diane, Mikel, Katie, and Lauren Rychliski, and Barb Cottle. “A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature.” –

Emerson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 12, at Upper Queens Park.

Please come in your Hawaiian shirt, and share your memories.

As expressions of sympathy, Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Research through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgoungfuneralhome.com
