It’s shaping up to be a long weekend to remember weather-wise.
Environment Canada is calling for sunny skies from Saturday to Labour Day Sunday meaning it will be a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy what many consider to be the last bit of summer.
With many students back to school next week and September starting on Sunday, it won’t be too long before the air turns cooler.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says many of us will want to take part in outdoor activities with the kind of weather we are going to see.
“What we see over the weekend are highs of maybe 23, 21, 22, so maybe one or two degrees cooler than normal but I love that wall-to-wall sunshine.”
Phillips adds that, overall, we’ve seen fantastic weather this summer with comfortable temperatures, unlike last summer when we saw a large heatwave sweep over the area.
