Evans, Mary

Mary Edna Evans (Shelly) Passed away at peopleCARE, Stratford into her saviours arms at 11:00p.m. Saturday July 12, 2014 in her 85th year. Daughter of the late Lorne Shelly and the former Gladys Courtnage, she was the beloved wife of Edward (Ted) Evans of 60 years. She was the cherished mother of Raymond of St. Thomas and Gerald of Orlando, Florida. Mary is survived by her half-sister Jean Pierce of Brantford, and half-brothers Norman Paterson of Troy, Ontario and Dwight Paterson of Hamilton. She will be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Gloria Currey of Buckhorn. Besides her parents she is also predeceased by her mother and father-in- law. Mary lived in Stratford for 42 years and in later years she operated the Little Folks Toy Store. A memorial service will be held in Griffith Auditorium at Woodland Towers, Stratford on Wednesday July 16 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation starting prior to the service at 1:00p.m.  As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada through the James A.
