Arrest made less than one day into Festive RIDE Campaign in Huron County

Less than one day into their Festive RIDE Campaign, Huron County OPP say they made their first arrest.

Police say a 28-year-old man from Hensall has been charged with impaired driving after he blew over at a roadside RIDE checkpoint on Saturday night.’

Around 9:30, police say a car was stopped at the checkpoint at Morrison Line and Hurondale Road when the driver was asked to give a breath sample which showed he was impaired.

He was brought to the Exeter OPP detachment where he gave two other breath samples confirmed he was impaired.

His vehicle was towed and impounded and he’s lost his license for 90 days.

He’s due in court on December 19th.
