Dona Ahrens

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dona Jean Ahrens, age 84, at her residence, Spruce Lodge, Stratford surrounded by her loving family.  Dona passed away peacefully on January 16, 2020. Born and raised in Fullarton Township, March 22, 1935, daughter of the late Frank and Isabelle (Switzer) Baird. Predeceased by her brother James Harper. Survived by her sister Kaye Patton.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Ahrens who predeceased her January 17, 2011. Loving mother of Brian Ahrens (Jo Anne), Gerald Ahrens (Janet), Joanne Casemore (Ross). Grandmother of Casee Ahrens (Andrew), Joel Ahrens (Jen), Justin Ahrens (Sarah), Ken Casemore (Brittney), Chris Casemore (Carolyn) and great grandmother of Logan, Claire, Ryker, Georgia and Charlie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dona worked at Canadian Fabricated Products until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, January 20, from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Spring interment at Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Mitchell.
