Mary Lewis

Mary Catherine Lewis, age 84, a resident of Seaforth Long Term Care Home passed away peacefully January 16, 2020. Born in Seaforth, daughter of the late James and Helen (Atkinson) Morris.

Predeceased by her husband Donald Lewis (1974), son David (1972) and special granddaughter Melissa Hart (1982). Loving mother of Pauline Hart (Bob), Dan Lewis (Laurie), Kevin Lewis (Wendy), Diane Lewis, Jackie Petrie (Jim), Dawn Cassone (Dave). Grandmother of Amanda Hudie (Jason), Owen Hart (Jaime), Dane Lewis (Kelsey), Byron Lewis, Leah Lewis (Ryan), Maverick, Mallory and Mason Petrie, Joey, Alex, Lena and Dani Cassone and great grandmother of Jaxon, Ben and Ava. Dear sister of Loretta Moynagh, Donald Morris (Lynn), Bill Morrris (Janice). Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Georgina Sutherland, Wanda Lewis, Rosie Feltz (Orval), Irene Merkel, John Pflance and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sister Josie Nigh (Bob), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe Moynagh, Joyce Steckley (Harvey), Nancy Lewis, Doris Pflance, Winston Lewis, Douglas Sutherland, William Merkel and father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Ivy Lewis.

Mary worked at the Post Office for many years until her retirement. She always enjoyed working the ticket booth on Friday nights at the Allman Arena.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, January 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. A family interment will take place ay Avondale Cemetery.
