The Avon Maitland District School Board says its planning for administering distance education for its students.
In an update to students and parents, AMDSB Director of Education Dr. Lisa Walsh says they are dealing with an “unprecedented situation” and they are working very hard to keep families informed as they receive information from the Ministry of Education and their local public health partners, and make decisions that impact their own students and staff.
She adds they are bracing for an extended school closure and they are working very hard to accommodate all students with a plan they’ll communicate as soon as possible.
Dr. Walsh adds teachers and support staff will begin to develop plans for a model of distance education to begin in the next two weeks.
