Fred Jacobs age 74 passed away suddenly on Friday August 1, 2014. Born in Mornington Township son of the late William and Elizabeth (Thorndyke) Jacobs. Best Friend and soul mate for over 50 years to Joyce (Smith) Jacobs. Proud father of Brenda Innes, Michael (Bonnie) Jacobs, Dannie (Kerrie) Jacobs. Adored grandfather of Nathan, Ryan (fiancée Jackie), Jocelyn, Sarah, Calvin (Katie), Jennifer, Rachel and Zachery. Survived by siblings; Gladys Zimmerman, Bob(Elaine)Jacobs, Jim (Ruby)Jacobs, Edna (Harold) Braun and brother-in-laws and sister in-law Howard Schade, Larry and Ardis Smith Predeceased by sisters and brother-in-laws; Lorne Zimmerman, Isobel (Harry) Reis and Shirley Schade, Kay and Bill Levy and Marie Doherty. Fred will be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was an employee for over 25 years at Kroehler Furniture Manufacturing also at Kitchener Sales Barn (Horse Ring) for 10 years. Fred showed Belgian Horse’s for many years before retiring to Stratford. Fred took great pride in attending any sports related event that any of his grandchildren played and loved cheering for them. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street ., Stratford on Tuesday August 5, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. and  on Wednesday August 6, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday August 7, 2014 at 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wartburg at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the 2nd St. John’s Lutheran Church, Huron-Perth Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
