The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth says she’s cautiously optimistic about the region moving into phase two of reopening from COVID-19 restrictions.
During a conference call with media Monday afternoon, Dr.Miriam Klassen says based on health indicators our region is well-positioned to enter the phase but she says they will need to monitor the situation closely.
Parts of Ontario, including Huron Perth, are moving into Stage 2 of reopening as of Friday.
Updated data released by HPPH Monday shows the number of cases of COVID-19 in the region remains at 55 with 5 people having died from it in the area and 46 recovered.
Another 66 people were tested for the virus since Sunday with the total of those tested now at 4,087 with 88 pending.
Ninety-eight percent of people tested in Huron Perth have been negative.
