SPS: “If you plan on attending a commercial business or public building plan on wearing a mask”

Stratford Police says they support the directive from Huron Perth Public Health on face coverings.

In a release, SPS says they will continue to focus on voluntary compliance of the directive to wear masks while inside commercial and public establishments that comes into effect on Friday.

Police say they will only use enforcement in situations where there’s “flagrant disregard” of the directive and they say the general expectation is that we all make public health the priority.

Those who choose not to comply could face fines under the Emergency Management and Civil Protections Act and SPS says the new directive should be viewed the same as the “no shoes, no shirt, no service” policy.
