Residents across Stratford are being thanked for their role in the city’s organics program.
The city says a total of 100 tonnes of organic material was collected in August through the program.
Officials say that amount would fill approximately 4,545 garbage bags and is roughly the weight of a blue whale.
Since the program was launched in April, the city says a total of 430 tonnes of organics have been diverted from the landfill site.
