Our father, Gord Landers, made that wonderful cross over to Heaven on Sunday, December 20th. He had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go. The cancer might think it won the battle, but we’re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for him to go home to him. He was ready to see our mom and all his family and friends. He left knowing how much he was loved and we all knew how much he loved us. Mr. Gordon Raymond Landers of Stratford, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born in Stratford, October 7, 1925, son of the late Stan and Elizabeth Landers. He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Gloria Landers (deceased August 2002), loving father of Heather Scaldwell and her son Greg of London, ON and best friend and father of Lisa Rieck and her husband Dale of Stratford. Gordon is survived by on sister, Mary Toth of Stratford and two sisters-in-law, Beth Landers and Marge Landers, and nieces and nephews and their families. Gord loved sports in general, hockey in particular and was an amazing skater. He was a World War 2 veteran and was a teacher for many years … A job he really loved. He had an amazing, constant love for his family. Gord had a wonderful smile and was a true gentleman to everyone he met. At the family’s request there will be a private funeral. In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, Salvation Army or the Gideons Bible Society through the W. G.
