Goldschmidt, Margarethe

Margarethe Anna Goldschmidt, age 92, of Stratford passed away unexpectedly at home on March 8, 2021. Born in Munster, Germany, daughter of the late Heinrich and Rosena Sander.

 

Margarethe worked at FAG Bearings for many years and later at Harlequin Books. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Stratford.

Beloved wife of the late Franz Goldschmidt who predeceased her October 23, 1987. Loving mother of Frank (Gillian) and Gordon. Grandmother of Lukas (Kathryn) and great grandmother of Ethan Also surviving is a sister Maria Overmann and brother-in-law Helmut Haverkamp. Lovingly remembered by the Goldschmidt family and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by sister Elizabeth Haverkamp, Johanna Sessendrup (Heinz) and brother-in-law Alfons Overmann.

Friends and relatives will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Avondale Cemetery. Those who will be coming to the service must call the funeral home to confirm their attendance.
