Three people from Perth County face charges after going to a church service in Aylmer. Police were monitoring Sunday’s service at the Church of God Restoration in anticipation of “breaches of the current Emergency Orders.”
Police say several persons of interest were identified and charged for violating the orders. During the investigation, police say two churchgoers began to interfere with officers and as a result, a 20-year-old man from Perth East and a 52-year-old woman from Shakespeare have been charged with obstructing police. Police also say another person charged a reporter in an aggressive and assaultive manner. The 48-year-old man from Perth East was charged with assault. All three were released on undertakings.
Aylmer Police says they received over a dozen complaints from residents about the church service.
