A 26-year-old Stratford man has been charged after police say he stole items from a cruiser.
It happened shortly before 12:30 Saturday morning when the man broke into the cruiser and stole an officer’s duty bag, which contained a number of Stratford Police legal forms, as well as some personal items.
Police released video surveillance images of the suspect and they were called around 10:30 yesterday (Tuesday) morning after a resident saw the man walking along Downie Street.
He was arrested and transported to Stratford Police Headquarters, where he was charged with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
He has a court appearance scheduled for June 7th and the stolen items, along with other stuff stolen from another vehicle later in the weekend, was recovered.
