Robot to inspect Stratford sidewalks over the next two weeks

Don’t be surprised if you see a robot out checking the sidewalks in Stratford.

City staff says, starting this week, a robot from Kitchener’s Top Hat Robotics will be moving along the sidewalks in Stratford looking for things like cracks or gaps.

The robot will be accompanied by a human chaperone and will be collecting information which will then be ultimately provided to a contractor to make repairs.

Sidwalk inspections usually take several months but the robot will get the work done in two weeks.

It will begin in the east end of the city and work its way west.
