Weigand, Katherine

Mrs. Katherine Helen Weigand, age 90, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Sebastian and Catharina (Meyer) Heinstein.  Katherine married Elgin Weigand, October 1949 and predeceased her in 1957.  Survived by her two wonderful children Rosemarie (Wayne) Priestap and Gordon Weigand.  Loving Grandmother of Nathan Priestap (Lorraine Wieland fiancĂ©e) and Janelle Priestap. Survived by sisters Theresa Knoch and Mary (Roy) Ross.   Katherine will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Katherine was predeceased by a brother-in-law Andrew Knoch. Prior to her retirement Katherine worked as a dietary aid at Stratford General Hospital. The family would like to thank the nurses at Bonnie Brae Nursing Home in Tavistock and Spruce Lodge in Stratford for the wonderful care and compassion given to our mother over the last eighteen months. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home 430 Huron Street., Stratford on Friday October 17, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service.
