Jack Valentine Taylor, age 99, of Stratford, passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Born in Stratford, son of the late William and Louisa (Shaw) Taylor. Predeceased by his loving wife of 77 years, Marion Ada (Clark) Taylor, September 21, 2020. Loving father of Cheryl Plesha (Kenneth deceased) and the late Jack Taylor (Nicole). Grandfather of Tiffany Yerkes (Paul), Ginger Plesha (Lisa), Ryan Taylor (Marcy) Rudy Taylor (Frances), Alexander Taylor (Becca). Great grandfather of Haleigh, Maddison, Jake, Devin, Curtis, Reid, Ella, and Natalie. Jack is survived by his sister Doris Gladding and by his sisters-in-law Doreen Clark, Connie Taylor, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Jack was predeceased by siblings; Harry, Bill (Isobel), and Louisa Evans (Jack), and in-laws Rose Pfaff (Art), Jean Wands (George), George Clark, and Bob Gladding. Jack joined the Air Force in 1940-1945, he trained as Aero Engine Mechanic, and he was in active service with 11BR Sub Patrol Dartmouth, NS, 113 BR Torbay/Gander, NFLD, and 116 Transport, Monkton, NB. He was very proud to serve his country and joked many times he had never officially been “discharged”. Returning to Stratford, Jack worked for many years at the CNR shops then later Cooper Bessemer and when they closed, he worked at Fram Canada until his retirement. Jack and Marion were very active members and supporters of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, August 23 at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. Jack will be laid to rest with his true love Marion in St. Marys Cemetery.
