It is with great sadness that our family share the news of Howard’s passing at home on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in his 96th year. Loving husband of the late Marjorie (Biesel) Luckhart (April 28, 2020) and very caring father of Brian (Ruth Ann), Douglas (Diane) and Thomas. Howard loved his 4 granddaughters Melanie Shiell (Jason), Angela Hurst (Kevin), Katrina (Kate) Powell (John), Danielle Martens (Jamie) and his 10 great grandchildren. Survived by his brother Murray Luckhart (Marie), brother-in-law Lorne Biesel (Nancy) and his sisters-in-law Myrta Biesel, Betty Luckhart, Charlotte Brodrecht and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Nelson and Elnora (Wiederhold)Luckhart, brothers Raymond Luckhart, Oliver Luckhart (Betty), Robert Luckhart (Herma), Edward Luckhart (Noreen), Don Luckhart (Ella), his sister Margaret Plummer (Herbert) and his brothers and sisters-in-law Doreen Kocher (Melvin), Ruth Nauman (Delton) Clarence Biesel, Earl (Idula) Biesel, Glen Biesel (Carol). Howard was born in Wilmot Township, where he met and married Marjorie 71 years ago. They lived in New Hamburg and in 1951 moved to Sebringville. Howard and Marj worked hard to build a livestock trucking company called H. W. Luckhart. Later the company became Luckhart Transport Ltd. Howard was a member of First St. John’s Lutheran Church Seebach Hill, past president of United Livestock Association and Ontario Trucking Association and he was a member of Pioneer of Trucking. Howard always loved family and their get togethers, he enjoyed watching his grand children and great grandchildren grow and was always proud of their accomplishments. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 4-8p.m. Howard’s funeral will take place at the funeral home on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Howard will be laid to rest beside his true love Marjorie in First St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seebach Hill.
