Destination Stratford is now a Living Wage Employer.
The tourism company is the latest employer to be certified by the United Way Perth-Huron in the category.
Calculated annually, the Living Wage is a calculation based on the living expenses of a family of four with both adults working full-time for 35 hours a week, once government transfers and deductions are taken into account.
Everyday expenses in the calculation included food, housing, utilities, childcare, and transportation.
The wage in our region, updated in November, is $17.95 an hour.
