Jane Elizabeth Ballantyne (nee Hislop), age 92, of RR# 4 Stratford passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on November 10, 2014. Beloved wife and best friend for over 50 years of Kenneth Edward Ballantyne who predeceased her in 1995. Loving mother of Shirley Weitzel (Francis), Rae (Audrey) and Sue Ballantyne-Topp (Kim). Cherished grandmother of Rick, Sherry (Pete), David (Jenny), Neill (Sarah), Amy (Mike), Amanda (Matt), Daniel (Cheyenne) and Zachary. Special great grandmother of Tyra, Dru, Nick, Kenny, Josh, Meghan, Andrew, Emma and Gracie. Dear sister of Grace Packham (Bob) and sister-in-law of Amy, Audrey and Cora Hislop, Muriel Ballantyne and Jack Finnie. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Alan, Rae and Lyle Hislop and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mildred (Melbourne) Murray, Thelma Finnie, Martin, Carl and Eldon Ballantyne. Jane and Ken farmed in Downie Township for many years until moving to Huntingdon Avenue in Stratford. Jane was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, November 13, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev Mark Gedcke and Rev Dr. David Thompson will officiate. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
