There’s one new death and over sixty new COVID-19 cases in our region.
Updated data from Huron Perth Public Health shows the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic is now at 71.
Officials say the death was that of a community member and it wasn’t connected to any ongoing outbreaks.
Of the 61 new cases, 19 are in Stratford, five are in North Perth, four are in Perth East and 2 are in St.Marys.
The rest are in Huron County.
There are also nine active outbreaks at schools in the area with a new outbreak declared at a school in Huron East.
There’s also still an active outbreak at a unidentified workplace.
Across Huron Perth, there are 173 active cases.
