Bowman, Orvie

Orvie Martin Bowman, age 88, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on December 27, 2021 having completed a life lived in extraordinary gratitude. Born in St. Jacobs, son of the late Levi and Hannah Bowman. Beloved husband of almost 63 years to the late Eleanor Jean (Newton) who predeceased him April 8, 2018. Loving father of Brad Bowman, Bonita Hayhow (John) and Beverley Maranger (Peter). Grandfather of BJ Bowman, Kim Lovett (Jayce), Jeremy Hayhow, Kyle Hayhow (Krista), Jesse Maranger (Emma), Justin Maranger (Brittany), Frances Maranger (Thomas) and Cole Maranger. Great grandfather of Callie and Everly (Hayhow), Lakyn (Lovett) and Margot (Maranger). Brother of Saloma Merritt, Edna Vandenburg (Fred), Leonard Bowman (Joy), and Grace Bowman. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by sisters Salinda, Priscilla, Carol and two brothers in infancy.

Friends and relatives are invited to Bethel Church, 2988 Highway 7/8, Stratford on Friday, December 31, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m., immediately followed by interment at Avondale Cemetery. Those who wish to join the service from home can view the livestream link found below Orvie’s obituary on the funeral home website. There will be no visitation or reception in order to limit Covid 19 exposure. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation or to Bethel Church Stratford through the W.G.
