The unemployment rate in the Stratford region went up to end the year.
The rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region went up to 3 per cent in December according to the Four County Labour Market Planning Board.
The biggest losses were seen in utilities and agriculture.
The annual adjusted unemployment rate for 2021 was 4.2%, 3.1 percentage points lower than that for 2020 which was 7.3%.
Last year’s annual rate is comparable to pre-pandemic levels which was 4.4% in 2019.
