Stratford community writes messages of solidarity with Indigenous peoples

The Stratford community is delivering messages of solidarity with Indigenous peoples living in Canada.

In September, the Stratford Public Library organized a letter-writing campaign to coincide with Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Residents, along with students from Stratford and District Secondary School who contributed 520 of their own letters.

Topics included conducting forensic searches on all properties used for Residential Schools, providing clean water, and minimum housing standards for all Indigenous peoples in our country.

The letters will be presented to Perth-Wellington MP John Nater outside the library on Friday at 11 a.m.
