The cause of a large overnight barn fire near Mitchell remains under investigation.
Fire Prevention Officer James Marshall tells MyStratfordNow.com crews were called out to the blaze on Perth Line 42, just west of Highway 23, late Tuesday night.
Around 40 firefighters from area departments helped bring the flames that had breached the roof under control but, unfortunately, 25 pigs died.
Flames were kept from spreading to the front half of the building and damage is pegged at around $800,000.
