Don’t be surprised if you see smoke around downtown Stratford on Friday.

The city’s Environmental Services division will be doing a smoke test on the sanitary sewer on Waldie’s Laneway around 10 a.m.

Officials say the test is a process that blows non-toxic smoke into the sanitary sewer to determine if there are any plumbing issues in the area.

The tests can result in some harmless residual smoke that may be visible.

The Stratford Fire Department has been notified in case there are any calls regarding the smoke.
