Steinacker, Vernon

Vernon George Steinacker age 76 of New Hamburg, passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. He was born in Stratford son of the late Herbert G. Steinacker and the former Clara Sippel. Vernon and his wife Marlene farmed in South Easthope Township until 2010. Vernon was a member of the Huron Perth Cattle Feeders Association, a former director of the Stratford Co-Op and was the recipient of several conservation awards. He was a member of  Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastapol, Tavistock. Beloved husband of Marlene Anita (Lupton) whom he married June 9, 1962 in Harrington.  Loving father of Jason Steinacker (Shannon Nelson), Suzanne Holder (Wayne), Brent Steinacker (Julie). Dear grandfather of Indra, Deacon, Ava, Jayden, Tyrus and Mindy. Brother of Doris Steinacker, Brother in law of Ina Jean Gietz, Janice and Bill McIntosh, Carmine and Bob Sim, Sandra and Dave Priestap, John and Kathy Lupton and their families. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Glenn Steinacker. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Saturday December 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 29 at 1 p.m. with reception to follow. Pastor Rick Brown will officiate. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of ones choice and may be made through the funeral home.  www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
