Lauren L ” Laure” St Pierre passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on December 25, 2013 after 24 active years as a young woman with Progeria. She was loved and supported by her mom, Lucinda, and her brother, Raphe. Laure touched the lives of many cousins and their families: Catharine and Lanny Huff, Picton, ON, Christina and Nick Nikolaiczuk, Picton, ON, Melinda and late Ron Sharpe, Wellington, ON, Carolyn and Dr. Joe Burley, Kingston, ON, Sherry and late Harry Macdonald, Wellington, ON, Glenda and Chuck Calnan, Burnaby, BC, and Laurie and Jeff Nevin, Lucan, ON. Her medical challenges brought her to the care of many talented doctors, including Dr. Glenn Berall and Dr. Christopher Sowton, Toronto, ON and Dr. Laurel Moore, Stratford, ON. This year Laure realized her dream to have a job. She worked hard for the Stratford-based charity, CHANGE HER WORLD, raising money to support schooling for girls in Malawi, Africa. Family and Friends are invited to the funeral service on Monday, December 30th, 2013 at 2:30 p.m., with visitation one hour prior at the W. G. Young Funeral Home 430 Huron Street., Stratford. Rev. Carol Hamilton will officiate. As expressions of sympathy memorial donation may be made to Change Her World through the funeral home
