Hoy, Robert Murray

Robert Murray Hoy, age 96, of St. Marys and formerly of Avonton, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 4, 2022. Born in Stratford, son of the late Samuel and Janet (Murray) Hoy. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (Campbell) Hoy on October 10, 2007 of 56 years. Proud father of Margaret, Mac and Murray Hoy. Robert will be remembered by his brother Bill Hoy and his sister-in-law Carol Hoy along with the Campbell family and nieces and nephews. Robert farmed most of his life, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying baseball, fishing, and he was a member of the Downie Hunt Camp. His one hobby he enjoyed immensely was playing the stock market, he was thrilled to hear the price of oil recently. Besides his wife Mary, Robert was predeceased by a brother Tom Hoy and a sister-in-law Pat Hoy. Family and friends are invited to a visitation and on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., all are welcome at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. Please wear a face mask.
