Memorial Walk/Run for Carter Schoonderwoerd this weekend in Mitchell

Family and friends are coming together this weekend to remember a former Stratford Warrior.

A Memorial Walk/Run is being held in Mitchell on Saturday to honor Carter Schoonderwoerd who passed away in June 2021.

It starts at 11 a.m. in front of Mitchell District High School with a four-kilometer route mapped out along the river trail, around the golf course, and back to the high school.

Organizer Rosemary Gilmore says there’s no registration fee to take part.

“He had a big part in a lot of people’s lives and he was a big kid with a big heart and we just want to remember him in the right way.”

Donation’s in Carter’s memory will be collected for St. Columban Soccer Club or the United Way Perth-Huron.
