Betty Maedel – of Mitchell passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Ritz Lutheran Villa on August 12, 2022 at the age of 96.

She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Frieda Litt.

Predeceased by the love of her life, Carl Maedel who passed in 1997.

Loving mother of Paul (Fern) Maedel, Liz (Tom) Goodyer, Colleen (Vince) Priestap and the late Alan Maedel.

Special grandmother to Darlene (Mark), Becky (Steve), and Laura, Chris (Liz), Jeff (Angela), and Lindsay (Andy), Jenn (Dean), Mike (Gerdina), and Christine (Luke), Steph (Ryan), Kalynn, and Jonny. Betty was blessed with 20 Great Grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty will be fondly remembered by her dear sisters Evelyn, Leone and Donna (Walter) and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by siblings Jean (Barry) Wenger, Phil Armstrong, Alvin (Lois) Litt, Loreen
(Bill) Beckett, Harold (Hilda) Litt, Harold Sillers, Carol Ann (Hank) Goller, Sharen (Ernie)
Marshall and sisters-in-law Marie Golightly and Illa Maedel.

Betty was known to many as a social butterfly who was always up for a good party, a
rousing game of bid euchre, and a day at the slots.

Nothing was as precious to her as spending time with her family especially during her holidays at Jack Lake.

Betty was a former member of the Mitchell Legion Ladies Auxillary Br. 128 and Grace
Lutheran Church.

She was a resident of Ritz Lutheran Villa where she was famous for her contagious smile.
Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Monkton Community
Centre on August 16 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

The funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at Monkton Community Centre on August 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gerald Luck officiating.

Interment to follow in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
