Police: Stratford man charged after road rage incident near Toronto

A 31-year-old Stratford man faces charges after police say he was involved in a road rage incident near Toronto.

Durham Regional Police say a victim noticed the suspect becoming agitated behind him as he was traveling eastbound on Highway 401 on Saturday.

The victim believed the suspect threw an object at their vehicle, and followed them off the highway.

Both ended up in Oshawa where police say the suspect approached the victim with an imitation firearm and began smashing the driver-side window and mirror of the vehicle.

The victim was able to get away, and the suspect fled the area.

The suspect was tracked down at a residence in Stratford and police say an imitation firearm was seized.

The suspect faces charges including Use Imitation Firearm in Commission of Offence; Assault with a Weapon; Utter Threats and Mischief Under $5000.

He was held for a bail hearing.
