It’s soon going to cost you more for a parking ticket in St.Marys.
Under a new by-law, the current $20 early payment rate for most parking offenses will go up to $50, while the set fine of $30 will increase to $70.
Officials say the new amounts have been set to ensure fines cover the administrative costs of issuing and processing parking infractions.
Another change will see off-road vehicles allowed on local streets between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. with rules under the Highway Traffic Act in place.
The new by-law was approved by town council on May 9th and will take effect on August 1st.
