Perth County Paramedic wins OAPC Humanitarian Award

A local paramedic helped people struggling to afford food during the COVID-19 pandemic, and she’s being recognized for her efforts.

Perth County is congratulating Primary Care Paramedic Jacqueline Ussher for receiving the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs (OAPC) Humanitarian Award.

The award, created in 2012, recognizes paramedics that work to help “relieve the suffering of humanity,” through efforts like disaster relief or supporting refugees.

Ussher received the award for her time volunteering with the House of Blessing food bank during the pandemic.

Mike Adair, the Chief of Perth County Paramedic Services, says she’s a “shining example” of the care and compassion his team has for the community.
