Stratford area’s unemployment rate increased slightly in November

The unemployment rate in the Stratford region increased slightly last month.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board says the rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region ended up at 3.7 per cent in November with the number of goods-producing employees decreasing.
Construction experienced the biggest loss followed by manufacturing.
“We are encouraged by the increases in the Health care and Social assistance and Agriculture sectors and will continue to monitor these changes” says Dana Soucie, Executive Director for the Four County Labour Market Planning Board. “Although we see decreases in the Goods producing sector this is expected due to seasonality”.
Meanwhile, employment in the services-producing sector increased.
