St. Marys Public Library reduces hours amid budget cuts

Due to financial challenges, the St. Marys Public Library is reducing its hours, affecting community access.

According to the Town of St. Marys, new hours are now in effect: Monday to Wednesday 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library will remain closed on Sundays.

This change comes after the Township of Perth South cut funding, causing a $50,000 shortfall in the library’s budget.

“While further changes may be necessary to make up for the loss in funding, the library remains committed to providing excellent service to St. Marys residents,” said Cole Atlin, St. Marys Public Library Board Chair.
