Stratford police warn about road closure fines

Stratford police remind drivers to obey road closure signs and barriers for their safety.

Const. Aaron Mounfied says these barriers are put in place for a reason.

“These could be the difference between getting injured and staying safe,” he said.

Drivers who ignore closures will face a $110 fine and three demerit points, Const. Mounfield said.

Insurance claims may also be denied if an accident occurs after bypassing barriers.

“If you come across one of these barriers, please take the extra time to find an alternate route,” he added.

Const. Mounfield advises that they want to keep everybody safe.
