North Perth resident drives to police station, gets impaired charge

A North Perth resident has been charged with impaired driving after driving to the police station under the influence of alcohol.

On Dec. 8, just before 6:30 a.m., Perth OPP began an investigation after the resident drove to the North Perth detachment to speak with an officer regarding a separate dispute.

However, during the investigation, the driver was arrested.

A North Perth resident, age 40, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration of above 80.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 6.

Additionally, a 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was implemented.

Perth OPP reminds the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver, you should contact the OPP or your nearest police authority immediately.
